Safety tips for Online and Mobile Banking
Online and Mobile Banking is convenient and safe. Rather than driving to the bank, you can deposit checks, pay bills, check your balances and transfer funds easily from the comfort of home or while you’re at work.
To make sure your information remains secure, we have a few tips to follow when you’re banking online.
1) Create a strong, unique password. Use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
2) Change your password frequently, at least every two months.
3) Avoid using an automatic log in feature that saves usernames and
passwords.
4) Check the activity on your bank account frequently and report any unauthorized activity to SCU immediately.
5) Sign up for SCU’s alerts via Online, text or SMS. We offer alerts for balances, transfers, password changes, ATM/Debit cards and bill payments.
6) Update your computer anti-virus and anti-spyware software frequently.
7) Don’t open or respond to emails or texts from people and companies you don’t know.
8) Keep your contact information at SCU up to date so we can contact you if needed.
Remember that SCU will never call you or send a text or email asking for your personal account information. Following these simple security tips can help keep your information safe while you bank online or on your smartphone.
