Get ready for our system upgrade!

Sacramento Credit Union is upgrading its data system. We’re investing in a technology infrastructure that will allow us to continue to provide superior products and services to our members well into the future.

The system upgrade is taking place from 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 29 through 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2. All SCU Branches will be closed and some services, such as Online Banking, Mobile App, and Telephone Banking, will not be available during the upgrade.

You will be able to access funds during the system upgrade. Your ATM card, debit card, and credit card will continue to work, and you will be able to make purchases and withdraw cash.

Piggy banks can make saving fun.

It’s never too early to teach your children how to manage money. If you give them an allowance for doing chores, then you can use those funds to help them learn to budget and save.

Show them how to put their allowance in a piggy bank or clear glass jar. The clear glass jar is better for young kids because they can see the money.

When they want to buy a toy or video game, encourage them to save part of their allowance each week to buy it rather than spend all their savings. That way, they will learn to delay gratification and understand how to save.

You can help children save more quickly by providing them opportunities to make more money. Maybe they could help you clean the garage or do yardwork. Doing extra chores can help them learn responsibility and develop good work habits.

After they get in the habit of saving, bring them to Sacramento Credit Union and we’ll help you open a Youth Savings Account. This will encourage your children to continue saving and will help them learn to manage their money.
